Mango Deck in Cabo San Lucas a favorite
Mango Deck with locations on both Medano Beach and on the marina in Cabo is one of our favorites. We often stop for lunch at Mango Deck Dockside to enjoy the outside patio and activities along the marina. A favorite for both of us is the tortilla soup. For me it’s the best in Cabo! The menu has a good variety, prices are comparable and service is good. Most days Mariachi bands drift in and out to serenade.
If you are looking for more of a party atmosphere, the Mango Deck Restaurant-Bar-Beach Club located on Medano Beach is always fun. They are open for breakfast at 7 AM and Happy Hour starts when Mango Deck opens! Chilaquiles are recommended for the breakfast crowd. The beach club employees can also set up any beach and water activities while you enjoy your meal.
Cabo San Lucas Cultural Center
The brand new Cabo San Lucas Cultural Center, on the marina in downtown Cabo, officially opened last month to much fanfare. The mayor, Mirna Xibille and Governor Narcisco Agundez led in the opening to 600 invited guests. Governor Agundez had vowed to open the center before his term expired and this was accomplished with just three days to spare! There is a plaque bearing the governor’s name that was unveiled during the ceremony. In addition, a huge marlin statue was presented as a gift to the city from Mr. & Mrs. Marco Eherenberg, owners of Pisces Fishing Fleet and Pisces Real Estate. The cultural center will house international cultural events and is expected to be an important tourist attraction.
Cabo San Lucas Restaurants
Casa Rafael’s
Casa Rafael’s is another one of our favorite restaurants in town and the bonus is the piano bar where Juan Carlo entertains. This eclectic restaurant, bar and boutique hotel is located in downtown Cabo in a 1960’s era turquoise building. There are several dining areas and one that features an enormous aquarium. A quartet serenades diners during dinner and Juan Carlos can be found in the piano bar decorated as a house of mirrors. The menu features continental cuisine with a Mexican flare. Select from chicken Allison, Cornish Game Hen, seafood entries and steaks. Desserts arrive on a tray that includes tiramisu, triple chocolate cake and other scrumptious selections. The wine list has a variety of Napa Valley Californians to French chateaus.
For a great evening out with delicious food and excellent entertainment try Casa Rafael’s.

Cabo San Lucas Restaurant Miguel Locos
Miguel Locos Grill and Cantina
Miguel Locos is located across the street from the town square on Hidalgo St at km 0 in downtown Cabo San Lucas. I love their home made tortilla soup among other choices. The menu has a good variety of choices, the service is good and the people are friendly. Miguel Locos is owned and run by U.S. expat Mike Hill and his beautiful wife, Josefina, a member of one of Cabo San Lucas’s oldest families. Miguel Locos’ recently launched Tequila Arco del Cabo, a potent blend packaged in Land’s End-shaped bottles. Next time you are in Cabo stop in Miguel Loco for a bite to eat. Many times Josefina and Mike are there and are always willing to share their stories about the area.
